Little Talbot Island State Park

Little Talbot Island State Park is one of the barrier islands off the coast of northeast Florida. Russell took me there on Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997. We spent a couple of hours walking (I really want to say frolicking, but The American Heritage Dictionary says that to frolic is "to engage in merrymaking, joking or teasing", and I don't really think we did too much of that.) along the beach. It was a peaceful, calm and well-needed Sunday afternoon.

  • It's so peaceful
  • 5 miles of wide, sandy beach
  • undisturbed salt marshes on the inland side
  • full facility camping
  • nature trails
  • The beach didn't have any of those little sand fleas. You know, the little things that bury themselves right after the water drifts away. I like to try to catch them. I'm not even sure what they are. I've never caught one.
